ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I have spend so much time with the characters in this book that they have become so much more real to me. The way they behave and live, responds to issues and face problems – all of it is more them than me.
My first ever serious book project – The Great Blindness – has showed me that the stories and characters we write take their own lives in a base level. But the Red Witch – Veer, Ener, Preet, Ardan, Anay – all of them has been a lot more than that; they have their own moral compasses, their way to live, their rights and wrongs. Unlike TGB (where I influence them), these characters have influenced me.
So, first and foremost, it is just right to thank this book. The emotions and lives this book holds – of both mine and the characters – is well connected to ever stop thinking about.
I told the storyline of this book first to my Mother, who in turn told my father. Thank you Amma and Achan for supporting this idea even when it was a small seed and now as it grows as a huge tree.
As every other siblings, my brothers have supported me through teasing and telling their friends about me and my books (mostly without my knowledge until they need book cover or something). Thank you Pappu Chettan and Pachu Chettan (Sarang and Saurav) for trying their best to be great siblings and being supportive pillars in my life.
Thank you Devutty (Devinandana) for supporting me as a person and a writer, and always believing in me and encouraging me to do the right thing. And whenever I do wrong or be dramatic, for pointing it out without being judgmental. I love and live you so much.
My mother’s friends are such gems, so are their families.
Thank you Sajna Aunty and Deepthi Aunty (her oldest friend) for showing pride in whoever I have become today and for encouragement you provide to me as a writer. And thanks to all her other friends (I am realizing that mentioning each of their names and their families will probably take a whole page alone) for the love and support.
Thank you Ismail Uncle for being my Guru and believing in me from the first moment we met.
My internet family and friends have been one of the most supportive group in my life so far. When I vent and rant, they have been one of the most understanding people. Thank you for loving and encouraging me, both as a person and writer.
At last, but not ever the least, thank you to everyone who picked up this book. Giving this book a chance might not be a huge thing for you, but for me it is the whole world. Do share your reviews with me through my Gmail or Instagram, both mentioned in the ‘About the Author’ area.
